On 1 July 2026, students from the RBU, DBU and DEM programmes gained valuable industry exposure during a corporate visit to Resorts World Genting, combining career insights with first-hand learning.
The visit featured career talks by three department heads, who shared their professional journeys, industry expectations, career pathways and practical advice for future graduates. Students also engaged directly with the speakers, gaining a clearer perspective on opportunities in the hospitality and tourism industry.
The experience continued at the theme park, where students observed customer experience management in action while exploring the attractions.
Overall, the visit connected classroom knowledge with real-world industry practices, inspiring students to better understand and prepare for their future careers.
On 4 July 2026, Learning came to life beyond the classroom as students from the Bachelor of Tourism Management (Honours) Event Management programme embarked on an educational visit to Pesta Buku ASEAN Pulau Pinang 2026.
Students gained first-hand exposure to the planning and execution of a large-scale public event, exploring exhibition booth designs, event layouts, visitor flow, stage setups, branding, promotional activities and behind-the-scenes operations.
Through interactions with exhibitors and event activities, students also gained valuable insights into how organisers, vendors and stakeholders work together to create engaging visitor experiences.
The immersive visit strengthened their understanding of event planning, operations, marketing, customer experience and teamwork, turning classroom concepts into real-world learning. A day of discovery, inspiration and industry exposure for our future event professionals!
06 July 2026, TAR UMT Perak - Empowering Students with AI Insights
Bringing industry expertise into the classroom! Our students gained valuable insights into the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence through an engaging industrial talk by Ts. Nadzirah Binti Ahmadi, an IT professional from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).
The session explored the latest AI tools and how they are transforming the way we learn, work and manage everyday tasks. Ts. Nadzirah also shared her professional experiences, highlighting the importance of staying adaptable and using AI responsibly.
A meaningful session that sparked curiosity, broadened students’ digital awareness and encouraged them to embrace AI as a tool for greater productivity and future readiness.
6 - 7 July 2026, TAR UMT Perak - Future Ready Workshop Series
Preparing students for life beyond the classroom! The Future Ready Workshop Series reached 103 students across five sessions, focusing on practical skills for the transition from university to the professional world.
Led by Mr Sonny Gan, Exco Committee Member of the Tarcian Alumni Association (TAA), former General Manager, Corporate Trainer and KTAR Financial Accounting graduate, the workshops explored key areas including career planning, life skills, financial management and entrepreneurship.
Through practical insights and real-world guidance, students gained valuable knowledge to make informed decisions, build confidence and navigate their future careers more effectively.
A sincere appreciation to Mr Sonny Gan for sharing his expertise and continuing to inspire our students to become confident, capable and future-ready graduates.
8 July 2026, TAR UMT Perak - English Camp and Campus Visit: San Min Suwa, Teluk Intan at TAR UMT
125 students. 9 stations. 1 unforgettable day!
Word Play: English in Action 2026 brought the vibrant energy of SM San Min (SUWA), Teluk Intan to TAR UMT Perak, for a day filled with language, laughter, and learning beyond the classroom!
Through exciting station challenges and the thrilling Ultimate GuessMoji finale, students put their English and communication skills into real action! They listened attentively, spoke with confidence, thought creatively, and worked together as one strong team.
But this programme was more than just games — it gave students a genuine taste of campus life, meaningful interactions with lecturers and student facilitators, and memories that will last well beyond the day itself!

From ideas to execution, DSSH students gained a closer look at the realities of the events industry during an engaging sharing session with Ms. Micky Ng, Chief Imagination Officer of A.C.E.
Drawing from her extensive experience in the events and creative industry, Ms. Micky shared practical insights into event planning, creativity, innovation, client expectations and the realities of a fast-paced professional environment.
The interactive session and constructive feedback gave students a clearer understanding of industry expectations while encouraging them to think creatively, embrace challenges and continuously build their professional skills.

23 July 2026, TAR UMT Perak - Wealth Flow Game: Financial & Life Planning Activity
Learn, decide, plan and grow! The Business and Accounting Society conducted the Wealth Flow Game, an engaging experiential activity designed to strengthen students’ financial and life planning skills.
Through realistic scenarios involving income, expenses, savings, investments, unexpected events and lifestyle choices, students experienced the challenges of managing finances and making decisions with limited resources.
The activity encouraged participants to evaluate risks, think ahead and understand how everyday financial choices can shape long-term goals and personal well-being.
More than a game, Wealth Flow gave students a practical lesson in smart money management, financial stability and planning for a more secure future.
