On 15 December 2025, a total of 128 Forms 4 & 5 SMK Kampar students took part in the hands-on

workshop designed to strengthen effective note-making skills for SPM preparation.

The session addressed a common student challenge - studying hard but struggling to remember. Students learned that this issue often lies not in effort but in study methods that do not align with how the brain learns.

The workshop highlighted that while teaching and textbooks are linear, learning is non-linear, relying on connections and patterns. Various note-making methods were introduced, with emphasis on mind maps as a practical tool to organise ideas, strengthen understanding and improve exam recall. The purposeful use of colour and visuals was also emphasised to support focus and memory.

The session concluded with a collaborative one-page mind map activity, followed by a key takeaway: “Consistency > perfection.” 

Students were encouraged to practise simple, meaningful note-making regularly as part of their SPM revision. With smarter notes and clearer connections, students are now ready to learn, recall and excel.

Thank you to SMJK Shing Chung for the warm welcome and the opportunity to run an energising Leadership and Team Building Workshop. It was a pleasure working with 162 highly enthusiastic Form 2 to Form 5 students who brought incredible energy to every session.

Through fast-paced, interactive challenges, students strengthened their teamwork, leadership and communication skills, stepping out of their comfort zones and learning the power of collaboration and confidence in action.

5 February 2026, Bota Kanan - Protecting Our River Gems, One Splash at a Time

41 dedicated staff and students came together for the River Terrapin Conservation Programme in Bota Kanan, Perak. From deep-cleaning the pond to restoring the surrounding habitat, every helping hand played a part in creating a safer, healthier home for these remarkable creatures.

The highlight of the day? Releasing the terrapins back into the river, a powerful reminder that small actions today help secure a future for our wildlife tomorrow.

5 February 2026, TAR UMT Perak - Industrial Talk: How to Maximise Your Tax e-Filing for the Year 2025 & Career Path with LHDN

Students attended an engaging industrial talk led by Mr. Yogendran A/L Silavaraj, Senior Assistant Director II from LHDN Perak. He opened with an overview of LHDN’s role and responsibilities, giving students a clear view of the profession and its impact.

The session then covered the online tax e-filing system, including submission procedures, deadlines and practical tips for accurate filing. Key highlights included individual tax reliefs for the Year of Assessment 2025, helping students connect classroom learning to real-life scenarios. Mr. Yogendran also shared advice on avoiding tax-related scams.

The talk concluded with career insights at LHDN, interactive games and gift distribution. Students left more informed, confident and inspired to explore tax careers.

10 February 2026, Bidor - Time Management Workshop at SMJK Choong Hua

Big thanks to SMJK Choong Hua, Bidor for the warm invite. We had an amazing time connecting with 90 energetic Form 5 students in a lively Time Management Workshop packed with hands-on activities, practical tips and real strategies to plan, prioritise and get things done.

From tackling procrastination to working smarter under pressure, students jumped right in and made the session truly engaging and fun.

We hope the experience sparked new ideas and better habits for their SPM journey ahead. All the best and we can’t wait to see you at TAR UMT soon!

25 - 28  February 2026, Melaka - CSR & Educational Trip to Melaka

Our Diploma in Hotel Management students recently participated in a meaningful CSR and educational trip to Melaka, combining learning, cultural exploration, and community service.

Students explored key attractions such as Jonker Street, Giant Bee B Farm Melaka, and the impressive show at Encore Melaka, gaining valuable insights into local tourism and hospitality.

As part of the CSR activity, students volunteered at Zoo Melaka by preparing animal food, cleaning shelters, and learning about wildlife conservation. 

The trip also included student-organised team-building activities at Pantai Klebang. Conducted as an outdoor classroom, students planned and carried out the games themselves, strengthening teamwork, communication, and leadership skills.

A truly enriching experience that nurtures both professional skills and social responsibility in our future hospitality leaders.
