“YOU MATTER! Unlock Your Confidence, Mind & Self” Workshop at SMK ACS Methodist Kampar
21 Nov 2025, Kampar - Yes, YOU MATTER!
At 8:45am, while the 2025 school year is counting down to the final term holidays, 100 Form 3 students of SMK ACS Methodist Kampar were buzzing with energy in the “YOU MATTER! Unlock Your Confidence, Mind & Self” workshop. From the very first icebreaker, it was clear this was no ordinary session: laughter, debates, reflections and total engagement everywhere. Total energy blast.
The boys? Surprisingly chattier than the girls! The top girl students? Fiercely competitive, and yes… envy was floating in the air . A highlight moment had three girl groups debating with Pn Siti that moods are uncontrollable. With a grin, she teased, “Then pity the boys… always the victims of us!” Everyone laughed, agreeing that yes, mood swings happen but they are still controllable.
The pink mahjong paper stole the show as their premiere experience. Students went wild and creativity flowed in hilarious ways. Some mind-mapped, others turned their lists into hilarious caricatures and a few boys even laid on their stomachs on stage, fully absorbed in sketching their thoughts. Pn Siti’s playful “psychological threats” and gentle shushhh-ing to tone down voices kept the chaos fun but focused. Through this activity, students discovered how a clear mind and structured goals create their personal “WHY” (motivation) to tackle Form 4 next year with confidence.
By the end, it felt like running a marathon while motivating in a hall, sweat flowing like Niagara Falls, energy high, minds buzzing. One thing was for sure: students left inspired, ready for Form 4 and carrying one truth: Your mind matters. Your dreams matter. YOU matter!

Beyond the Classroom: A Day of Impact & Inspiration
Students from the Bachelor of Tourism Management (Hons) (Event Management) programme recently participated in a meaningful CSR and educational trip to Rawang.
At KC Valley, students engaged in dog-care activities, including bathing, cleaning, and socializing with the rescued dogs. This experience strengthened their teamwork, compassion, and understanding of animal welfare—while supporting the shelter’s daily operations and contributing positively to the community.
The learning continued at Skyline Luge KL, a rising attraction in Malaysia’s tourism landscape. By experiencing the luge firsthand, students gained insights into visitor management, safety planning, and how innovative recreational products enhance the overall tourism and event experience. It also highlighted how such attractions play a key role in destination appeal and sustainable tourism development.
A valuable day of learning, service, and real-world industry exposure—shaping well-rounded future professionals in tourism and event management.
