Five dedicated students from the Perak Branch recently participated in the Community Sociology Advisory Group (CSAG) Training Camp held at the Sabah Branch from June 12th to 15th, 2025.
The primary objective of this intensive four-day camp was to foster a collaborative environment, bringing together CSAG members from various branches. Participants engaged in valuable sharing sessions, collaborative activities, and relationship-building exercises. The camp aimed to strengthen inter-branch connections, enabling a more unified and impactful approach to community development initiatives.

June Orientation Week 2025/26: A New Dawn – Event Highlights
Held over a series of engaging sessions and campus-wide activities from 16 to 19 June 2025, the Orientation Week aimed to introduce new students to campus life, university services, and community spirit while helping them form meaningful connections with peers, seniors, and staff members.
From informative briefings and interactive ice-breaking games to campus tours and creative workshops, the week-long programme was packed with opportunities for students to settle in, explore their interests, and feel at home.
The success of the event was made possible through the tireless efforts of the organizing committee, student helpers, and faculty members. Their dedication, energy, and warm hospitality created an inclusive and welcoming environment for all.
"This event wouldn’t have been a success without the presence and unwavering support of our students, helpers, and committee members. We thank everyone who made it possible," said the Orientation Week Chairperson.

An Enriching Culinary Journey : UK Students at TAR UMT Perak
On 24th June 2025, a group of 31 university students from the United Kingdom visited TAR UMT, Perak Branch for a Culinary Workshop on Malaysian Cuisine. The workshop was conducted by Chef Mohamad Luqman and Chef Muhammad Hanif and was supported by students from the Diploma in Culinary Arts and Bachelor of Gastropreneurship (Honours) (RGP) programmes.
During the session, the UK students were given the opportunity to prepare a variety of traditional Malaysian dishes under the guidance of our culinary students. The Malaysia dishes prepared were Satay with Peanut Sauce and Roti Jala with Curry Chicken. Following the hands-on cooking session, the students enjoyed the fruits of their labour by sharing the meal they had prepared.
The workshop was not only fun and educational but also served as a valuable platform for cross-cultural exchange. Our local students had the chance to interact with their UK peers, exchanging insights on culinary practices and exploring the rich diversity of food cultures between Malaysia and the United Kingdom.
It was truly a memorable and enriching experience for all participants, fostering friendship, cultural appreciation, and a deeper understanding of global culinary traditions.

ASICS MASISWA BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIP 2025
The ASICS MASISWA Badminton Championship 2025 is a
prestigious inter-varsity badminton competition held to promote sportsmanship among students from private higher education institutions in Malaysia. The competition was held from 26 – 28 June 2025, at Taylor’s University, Subang Jaya, Selangor. TAR UMT Perak Branch was represented by four participants who participated in five different categories:
MASISWA Men Doubles
MASISWA Mixed Doubles
MASISWA Men Singles
MASISWA Women Singles
MASISWA Bakat Baru Men Singles
Although our participants did not secure any titles, the competition provided them with excellent exposure and a valuable learning experience in the highest competitive level of badminton. Their participation reflects strong determination, sportsmanship, and a commitment to continuous improvement in the sport.

On 28 June 2025, a total of 78 aspiring hospitality professionals from the Diploma in Hotel Management, Tourism Management, Culinary Arts, and Bachelor’s programmes in Hospitality & Catering Management (Hons) and Gastropreneurship (Hons) embarked on an exciting journey to the 2nd Malaysia Culinary World Cup 2025 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Jaya! 🇲🇾
Accompanied by 7 dedicated academic staff, our students experienced the dynamic world of culinary excellence and hospitality innovation up close. From witnessing world-class culinary skills to exploring industry trends, the field trip offered priceless exposure that goes beyond the classroom — nurturing professional growth, global awareness, and career readiness.
This unforgettable trip is a step forward in shaping future leaders of the hospitality and culinary industry, in line with the national education agenda and international best practices.
