The Career Fair was a huge success, featuring 18 companies from a wide range of industries. In addition to the vibrant exhibition booths, three insightful career talks were held, offering students valuable tips on industry expectations and career growth.
Students made the most of this golden opportunity — engaging with company reps, asking thoughtful questions, and exploring exciting internship and job opportunities that matched their interests and fields of study. The event provided a meaningful platform for students to build connections, expand their network, and gain a clearer picture of today’s job market.

Industry Talks at Career and Internship Recruitment Day 2025
On 1st July 2025, three industry talks were held in conjunction with Career and Internship Recruitment Day 2025 to expose students to real-world career insights through experience sharing and Q&A sessions.
The talks were as follows:
a) "My Hospitality Journey: From Intern to Industry Expert" – Ms Chan Ning Xuan, Parkroyal Langkawi
b) "Global Ecommerce Challenges: Business Case From Malaysia to Australia" – Mr Koh Tak Song, KK ECOMMERCE
c) "Career Progression in the Hospitality Industry" – Mr Arlee Lee Boon Lee, Genting Highlands
These sessions offered students valuable exposure to industry trends and career pathways.

Industrial Talk: Crafting Your Career After Graduation
On 4 July 2025, students from the Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries (FCCI), TAR UMT Perak Branch, gained valuable career insights during an industrial talk titled “Crafting Your Career After Graduation” at H101, Block H, featuring guest speaker Ms Noor Azila Ahmad, Deputy General Manager of Yayasan PKT.
Ms Noor Azila shared her professional journey and offered practical advice on career development, preparing students for the transition from university life to the professional world. Her session emphasized the importance of personal branding, goal setting, and adapting to industry demands in a competitive job market.
This exclusive event was curated for FCCI students as part of TAR UMT’s ongoing efforts to bridge academia with industry, empowering graduates to take informed steps towards successful and meaningful careers.

Turtle Conservation Day at Segari, Perak
Turtle Power in Action!
On 5 July 2025, 47 enthusiastic staff and students from TAR UMT Perak Branch kicked off their day bright and early at the Turtle Conservation and Information Centre in Segari, Perak.
The adventure began at 6:30 a.m. with the heartwarming release of 125 baby turtles into the sea — a magical and unforgettable moment that left everyone in awe!
Right after that, it was time to roll up our sleeves and get to work — cleaning four turtle ponds at the centre. The hands-on experience brought everyone closer to the cause, deepening their appreciation for marine life and the dedication needed to protect these gentle creatures.
It was a meaningful day filled with teamwork, learning, and tons of turtle love! A small step for us, but a huge leap for turtle conservation!

Industrial Talk : Fast-Track Your Future with the CGMA Qualification
On 07 July 2025, Mr. Cheong Jian Wei, Specialist - Business Development of AICPA & CIMA, who conducted the workshop and provided students with valuable insights into the CIMA A-Star Programme, which serves as a structured pathway towards achieving professional qualification in management accounting. Through the guest speaker's session, students gained a clear understanding of the programme structure, eligibility criteria, course modules, and the exemptions available based on their academic background. The session also covered the pricing and registration process, allowing students to make informed decisions about pursuing the programme. Overall, the workshop helped students recognize the benefits of the CIMA qualification and how it can enhance their career prospects in the field of accounting and finance.

A Summer to Remember in Dalian, China
From 29 June to 12 July 2025, students had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Contemporary China Romantic Dalian International Summer School, hosted by Dalian University of Technology.
Bringing together students from Russia, Italy, Korea, and Malaysia, the programme fostered a vibrant, multicultural learning environment that was truly one-of-a-kind.
Participants immersed themselves in a rich blend of academic, cultural, and industry experiences, including campus and city tours, cultural salon & workshops, dumpling-making fun, thought-provoking academic lectures and enterprise visits for real-world exposure
These thoughtfully designed activities offered first-hand insights into modern Chinese society, business landscapes, and age-old traditions.
From expanding global perspectives to developing intercultural competence and boosting soft skills, this summer school was nothing short of transformative. Students returned home with unforgettable memories, lifelong friendships, and a deep appreciation for Chinese heritage.

Business Intelligence for Data-Driven Decision Making in the Era of Data Science
An industrial talk was held on 17 July 2025, conducted by Dr. Nur Syadhila, a lecturer from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). The session, titled "Harnessing Business Intelligence for Data-Driven Decision Making in the Era of Data Science", was attended mainly by DFT and RSD students from the IT programme. Dr. Nur Syadhila emphasized the importance of data collection in building data warehouses, which are essential for OLAP tools to generate valuable insights and reports for effective decision making.

Penang Hill Festival 19 July 2025: Nature & Heritage Walk Experience
Students from the Bachelor of Event Management program at TAR UMT Perak Branch recently took part in the Nature Walk and Heritage Walk at the Penang Hill Festival 19 July 2025!
This immersive learning experience allowed our students to explore the rich biodiversity of Penang Hill’s rainforest ecosystem, while gaining firsthand insights into the cultural and historical heritage that makes this iconic destination so unique.
Through this field visit, students not only appreciated the importance of nature conservation and heritage preservation, but also learned how events can be designed to educate, inspire, and bring communities together.
