1 July 2025, TAR UMT Perak Branch - Career Fair 2025: Opportunities in Full Bloom

A day of possibilities unfolded as 18 companies from across industries filled the hall with opportunities, insights and inspiration. Beyond the buzzing exhibition booths, three engaging career talks equipped students with practical tips on meeting industry expectations and charting their career growth.

From striking up conversations with recruiters to exploring internships and job openings, students made every moment count, leaving with new connections, fresh ideas and a clearer vision of their future.

1 July 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Industry Talks in Conjunction with Career and Internship Recruitment Day 2025

Three industry talks were held to provide students with real-world career insights through experience sharing and interactive Q&A sessions. The sessions featured:

Global Ecommerce Challenges: Business Case from Malaysia to Australia – Mr Koh Tak Song, KK ECOMMERCE

Career Progression in the Hospitality Industry – Mr Arlee Lee Boon Lee, Genting Highlands

These talks offered valuable exposure to current industry trends, challenges and career pathways, equipping students with practical knowledge to prepare for their future careers.

4 July 2025, Tapah - Body Core Strength Exercises Workshop at SMK Hamid Khan

A big thank you to SMK Hamid Khan for inviting us to conduct the Body Core Strength Exercises workshop. Around 200 students, from Form 1 to Form 5, took part in this energetic and interactive session, learning techniques to strengthen their core muscles while having plenty of fun. The workshop not only promoted physical fitness but also encouraged students to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. We look forward to more engaging sessions in the future.

4 July 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Crafting Your Career After Graduation

How do you turn a degree into a dream career? Our FCCI students found out during an inspiring industrial talk with Ms Noor Azila Ahmad, Deputy General Manager of Yayasan PKT.

Held at H101, Block H, the session took students beyond textbooks, offering real-world advice on personal branding, goal setting and staying adaptable in today’s competitive job market. Ms Noor Azila’s own career journey served as a roadmap, proving that with clarity, courage and commitment, the transition from campus to career can be a rewarding one.

Curated exclusively for FCCI students, this event is part of TAR UMT’s ongoing mission to connect classroom learning with industry wisdom, empowering our future graduates to step confidently into the world of work.

5 July 2025, Segari, Perak - Turtle Power in Action!

What a shell-tastic day! 47 staff and students kicked off the morning with pure magic, releasing 125 baby turtles into the ocean at sunrise.

Then it was sleeves-up time. We scrubbed and cleaned four turtle ponds at the Turtle Conservation and Information Centre. The splashes, smiles and teamwork made it a day to remember. From awe to action, the experience deepened our bond with nature and our commitment to protecting these gentle creatures.

From watching tiny flippers paddle into the waves to helping keep their home clean, every moment reminded us that small actions can make a BIG difference.

7 July 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Fast-Track Your Future with the CGMA Qualification

Students took a confident step towards becoming future-ready finance professionals through an exclusive workshop on the CIMA A-Star Programme, conducted by Mr Cheong Jian Wei, Specialist, Business Development of AICPA & CIMA.

During the session, participants explored how the CIMA A-Star pathway can accelerate their journey to earning the globally recognised CGMA qualification. From programme structure and eligibility to course modules, exemptions, fees and registration, every detail was presented clearly, enabling students to plan their professional futures with confidence.

The key takeaway? The CIMA qualification is more than just a prestigious addition to a résumé, it is a gateway to diverse career opportunities in accounting, finance and beyond.

We had an amazing time at your business workshop, connecting with around 150 bright and curious Form 1 & Form 2 students. Your energy and eagerness to learn made the session truly special.

17 July 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Unlocking the Power of Data: Industrial Talk with UTP

DFT and RSD students had the privilege of attending an inspiring industrial talk by Dr. Nur Syadhila, lecturer of Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP).

Titled “Harnessing Business Intelligence for Data-Driven Decision Making in the Era of Data Science”, the session dived deep into how strategic data collection and well-designed data warehouses form the backbone of powerful OLAP tools. These tools, Dr. Nur Syadhila explained, are key to generating actionable insights and comprehensive reports, the very foundation of smart, effective decision making in today’s data-driven world.

Students left the talk with a clearer vision of how data science transforms raw information into business intelligence, equipping them with knowledge to thrive in the fast-evolving tech landscape.

Penang Hill Festival 19 July 2025: Nature & Heritage Walk Experience 

Students from the Bachelor of Event Management program at TAR UMT Perak Branch recently took part in the Nature Walk and Heritage Walk at the Penang Hill Festival 19 July 2025! 

This immersive learning experience allowed our students to explore the rich biodiversity of Penang Hill’s rainforest ecosystem, while gaining firsthand insights into the cultural and historical heritage that makes this iconic destination so unique.

Through this field visit, students not only appreciated the importance of nature conservation and heritage preservation, but also learned how events can be designed to educate, inspire, and bring communities together.

21 July 2025 - Virtual Industrial Talk with Invest Sabah Berhad

More than 100 students from the Diploma in E-Marketing, Diploma in Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Accounting programmes at TAR UMT Perak joined an engaging virtual industrial talk featuring Dr Firdausi Suffian, CEO of Invest Sabah Berhad.

Dr Firdausi shared insightful perspectives on managing ethics and integrity in a global environment, drawing from his expertise and real-world experience. The session not only broadened students’ understanding of ethical business practices but also highlighted the importance of integrity as a cornerstone for sustainable success in today’s interconnected world.

23 July 2025, Kuala Lumpur - Industry Visit to Ernst & Young (EY)

DAC and RAF students recently had the valuable opportunity to visit Ernst & Young (EY), one of the world’s leading audit firms. The visit featured an insightful sharing session on career pathways in audit and tax, focusing on internship and fresh graduate opportunities.

EY professionals shared their experiences, industry expectations and tips for success, giving students a clearer understanding of the working environment and potential career progression. A networking session further allowed students to engage directly with experienced EY staff, fostering meaningful connections and enhancing their communication skills.

The visit proved to be a fruitful experience, bridging academic learning with real-world insights and inspiring students to prepare for future careers in audit, tax, accounting and finance.
