IMI Switzerland Talk

12 February 2025, TAR UMT Perak -  Ms. Varushka Lo Gioco, International Marketing Manager of IMI Switzerland, delivered an insightful talk on “Study Opportunities at IMI Switzerland.”

She introduced students to the academic environment and unique lifestyle at IMI through a captivating video presentation, offering a virtual glimpse into the institution. Ms. Varushka also highlighted the global career prospects awaiting IMI graduates in the international hotel and hospitality industry, sharing valuable insights from her own professional journey across Europe.

The session was attended by approximately 72 students, who walked away with a deeper understanding of the learning experience and global opportunities available at IMI Switzerland.

19 February 2025, Kampar – Transisi Minda F4: Ideal Personality Workshop

Puan Siti welcomed over 100 Form 4 students to a dynamic workshop aimed at building self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth as they transition into upper secondary school.

The session kicked off with a powerful reflection on the word “JATUH”—symbolizing setbacks and challenges. Students were encouraged to think: Do we stay down, or rise stronger?

Through engaging discussions and sharing, they identified confidence and discipline as keys to bouncing back. The session ended with a meaningful reminder:

"Fikiran anda menentukan tindakan anda, tindakan anda menentukan tabiat anda, tabiat anda menentukan kehidupan anda."

Students left the workshop inspired and empowered, ready to grow into their best selves.

Lunar Love Festival 

25 February 2025, TAR UMT Perak - We had an unforgettable time at the Lunar Love Festival, brought to life by the amazing efforts of the Student Representative Council (SRC) and Music Society. The campus was buzzing with energy from the electrifying lion dance that kicked things off, to soul-stirring singing performances, thrilling game stations, and mouth watering treats at various F&B booths, including the popular Zus Coffee. 


One of the highlights? The lively and heartfelt tradition of throwing mandarin oranges, symbolizing hopes and connections for the year ahead. It was a day filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit. A celebration to remember!

Industrial Talk @  5G IoT Technology: Malaysia Perspective

28 February 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Low Tan Jung from the CIS Department, Universiti Teknologi Petronas, delivered an insightful industrial talk titled “5G IoT Technology: A Malaysian Perspective” to IT students from the RSD, DFT, and DIS programmes, as well as other interested students from the 202501 session.

A total of 87 students attended the session, which offered a deep dive into the infrastructure, tools, and platforms essential for the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Dr. Low also took the opportunity to clarify key distinctions between Data Science and Data Analysis, enriching the students' understanding of evolving tech trends and career pathways. It was a highly informative session that bridged academic learning with real-world industry perspectives.

Career Opportunities with iKHASAS

28 February 2025, TAR UMT Perak - Over 400 students from the Department of Social Science and Hospitality and the Department of Accountancy and Business were captivated by Dato' Kee Sock Kheng, Group Chief Operating Officer of iKHASAS, and her management team during an inspiring talk at TAR UMT, Perak Branch.


From humble beginnings as a construction sub-contractor in 1973, iKHASAS has evolved into a powerhouse in Malaysia’s property, hospitality, and IT industries, offering exciting career opportunities across multiple sectors.


The session provided students with invaluable insights into the company’s journey and the diverse career paths awaiting them, leaving them motivated and with a clear vision for their future professional success.
