TAR UMT Perak Branch kicked off an exciting academic journey for its newest students during the vibrant November Orientation. This two-day event was packed with essential briefings, engaging workshops, Society Day, a fun-filled Campus Tour, and an exciting Tele-Match – all designed to ensure a smooth transition into university life. With a focus on inclusivity and support, the orientation created a welcoming atmosphere, setting the stage for a successful and memorable academic experience for all new students.

HRC International hosted the "Malaysia Virtual Recruitment Event," with TAR UMT Perak Branch joining in on this exciting opportunity. The event featured insightful talks by Ms. Angela Athella, Ms. Angela Gabriella, and Ms. Nathania Vricshika, Asian representatives from HRC International, and attracted around sixty-seven students from hospitality programs. The session highlighted the various hospitality training opportunities in luxury hotels across the USA. Alumni Ms. Nita Woo Sau San and Ms. Adena Limanjaya also shared their enriching experiences from their training programs in the USA. The event successfully raised awareness of global career prospects in the hospitality industry.

The English Camp at Sekolah Menengah San Min(SUWA), Teluk Intan, united about 140 enthusiastic Senior 2 students with 18 dynamic helpers from TAR UMT, supported by four dedicated English lecturers from the Department of Languages. The helpers, members of the English Language Society and Student Representative Council, teamed up to deliver an unforgettable day of learning, laughter, and connection.
The English Camp at Sekolah Menengah San Min(SUWA), Teluk Intan, united about 140 enthusiastic Senior 2 students with 18 dynamic helpers from TAR UMT, supported by four dedicated English lecturers from the Department of Languages. Interactive activities like the Grammar Relay Race, Speech Olympics and Mystery Maze: Riddles Hunt Adventure sparked creativity, built teamwork, and boosted students’ confidence in using English. Despite the day’s challenges, the joy and camaraderie shared by all made it immensely rewarding.

Organized by Majlis Sukan IPTS Malaysia (MASISWA) under the Ministry of Higher Education, this bi-annual event brought together IPTS staff nationwide in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. Held from 28 November to 1 December 2024, the competition featured 9 thrilling sports: Netball, Futsal, Volleyball, Badminton, Ping Pong, Sepak Takraw, Petanque, Tenpin Bowling, and Chess.

The Perfect Family Christmas Butter Cookies.
On 5 December 2024, ten students from the Diploma in Hotel Management program participated in the Christmas Cookies Baking project at Copthorne Hotel. They stayed at the hotel overnight. This Corporate Social Responsibility Christmas initiative is a collaboration between TAR UMT and Copthorne Hotel Cameron Highlands, aimed at raising funds for the Cleft Lip & Palate Association of Malaysia (CLAPAM) and the TAR UMT Loan Fund.

On December 12, 2024, diploma and degree students participated in a time management workshop focused on enhancing their productivity and academic success. The workshop covered effective time management techniques, including goal setting, prioritization, and practical tools like the Eisenhower Matrix. Participants also engaged in activity-based activities, applying these techniques to real-life scenarios and fostering a deeper understanding of time management principles. The session concluded with discussions on overcoming common challenges like procrastination and distractions, encouraging collaboration and peer support among students from various programs. Looking forward to seeing you all again in the near future!

The “Campus Life: One Take, One Story” photography competition and exhibition, organized by Year 2 students from the Event Management programme at TARUMT, was an inspiring showcase of student talent and creativity. Held on December 26, 2024, at the DSA Hall, this event captured the vibrancy of campus life through the lens of aspiring photographers. Featuring two categories—Camera and Phone—the competition encouraged originality and storytelling, offering a platform for students to express their unique perspectives.
